Indi Middleton is a Boorloo artist who works with various printmaking techniques, unconventional materials and hand stitched textiles. She uses ambiguous and vulnerable snippets of text as a vehicle for documentation of memory, trauma and complex mental illness. Lingering traces of the artist’s hand reveal the time spent making and reflecting, alluding to the accumulative history and memory imbued in the work. The repetitive nature of hand-stitched construction also embodies the cyclical and shifting nature of the ideas she explores. Currently, Indi is interested in the interaction between neurodivergence and intimacy.
